You can’t achieve the benefits of exercising if you don’t have sufficient amount of nutrition in your body. A lot of calories are burned up during exercises because your metabolism (catabolism) rate is increased. This could only mean the depletion of energy levels and it must be replaced immediately by proper nutrition.

An increase in the breakdown of fats and carbohydrates happen whenever you exercise. They must all be replaced, and in cases like building the muscles, sufficient amino acid sources are required to be ingested so that the new rate of muscle building will be started off by the exercise.

The demands of the body can tremendously increase, so you’ll need sufficient amount of energy from carbohydrates to help the level of metabolism going on. As for amino acids which are needed in muscle building, you can get those from food rich in protein. Other things you’ll need are antioxidants (vitamins C and E), micronutrients (vitamins B and chromium), and minerals (magnesium and calcium). Because there are more free radicals released by the level of metabolism, antioxidants need the increasing mop up action.

What you can do is drink more water than usual. You sweat a lot when you exercise, and the loss of fluids could lead to dehydration. Loss of fluid can lead to several serious things such as heat stroke and hypovolemic stroke. If you want to cool off the exothermic reaction happening inside your body, then it’s advisable to drink lots of water.

In the body, all chemical reactions are increased. The heart muscles are also working hard. If you want the electrical activities of your heart to keep up with the new demands, then supply it with nutrients, vitamins B and C, as well as oxygen. Occurring are the influx and outflux of more sodium and potassium ions, so sufficient intake of nutrients is essential. If these ions depletes, then it could cause heart block.

You’re going to need sufficient carbohydrates before or after exercises, since it is the main energy source for physical activities. If you take carbohydrates before exercises, allow some time to digest it and avoid Angina. We need to pay attention the body’s needs and eat after a good rest.
